Item Description

From a new discovery at the end of 2016, here we have a cool and unusual Fluorapatite specimen from an undisclosed locality in Dayu Co., Jiangxi Province, China. I purchased the piece from a good friend in China, who said there were only about 10 pieces in the pocket, and I considered this to be the best one in the lot. The rest were badly damaged, so unfortunately it's the only one I have to offer, so if you're interested in the piece, this is the only chance to pick one up, unless more are found. Sharp, tabular, translucent crystals of Fluorapatite measuring up to 2.0 cm across sit on a layer of crystallized Muscovite on matrix. The color of the Apatites is unique as they have an interesting pinkish-purple hue on the periphery with unusual silvery-green cores. This piece is in good shape overall, and if you collect phosphates, Apatites, Chinese minerals or just unusual specimens, this is a great opportunity to pick up a piece from what could be a one-off discovery.
