Cuprite with Copper

Item Description

A great Cuprite thumbnail specimen from this sulfide deposit in Russia about 35 km from Kazakhstan border. A very sharp, rather lustrous and incredibly well-formed, metallic, deep blood red group of octahedral Cuprite with tiny "flanges" of Copper here and there. The piece does not have a visible point of contact, so I'm calling it a "floater". The Cuprite shows great color when strongly backlit! These are going up in value it seems, as this one came to us priced at $800.
