Item Description

Here is one of the more interesting Pyrites that we've had from Bolivia. Typically, Bolivian Pyrite is not found in attractive, displayable, well-crystallized specimens. This however is one of the better specimens we've had to offer from this country. The specimen is virtually undamaged on the display side and is filled with with many highly modified octohedra on matrix. The largest crystal measures 7 mm across. All the Pyrite crystals are very bright and shiny, and the piece is in great condition for the material. An unusual crystal habit and nice quality to boot! The piece comes from collection of Brian Kosnar who acquired in nearly 20 years ago in Bolivia from a local miner who couldn't say specifically what mine it was from, so it was simply labeled as coming from Potosi.
