Muscovite on Albite

Item Description

A notably eye-catching and well-formed Muscovite crystal on matrix from the lesser known locality at Fazenda Jaime Pacheco (fazenda is the Portuguese word for farm, so this would be the Jaime Pacheco farm). The 2.0 cm Muscovite is sharp, lustrous and fairly thick, with a beautiful semi-metallic golden hue that is best seen when the crystal is backlit. It's aesthetically set atop well-crystallized, rather lustrous, translucent, white Albite matrix. No real damage that I can see, and it's rare to find isolated crystals of any Mica species like this sitting so beautifully on crystallized matrix from any locality.
