Item Description

Stibnite is not common from Lake County, California, and I've personally only seen one other piece from this area. This specimen could certainly be from the Sulphur Bank Mine, but it only came labeled as coming from the Sulphur Creek District. Beautiful acicular "needle"-like crystals of Stibnite have grown into beautiful "sprays" on iron-stained fractured matrix. The largest single needle measures 2.5 cm (on the back of the specimen). RARE to be sure, and if you collect sulfides, California minerals, or just oddities from the western United States, don't miss out on this one.
