Item Description

A seldom seen, but beautiful example of the elusive golden Barites from Naica. This locality is probably best known for it's amazing Gypsum crystals are fantastic gem green Fluorites, but the Barites are few and far between. This particular specimen would make a great addition to a Barite suite, or a collection of Mexican minerals. Sharp, very lustrous, gemmy, well-formed, tabular crystals of golden Barite measuring up to 2.6 cm aesthetically sit atop Quartz, Sphalerite and Galean matrix. Very little damamge, showy and darned-hard to find on the market these days. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico (Collection #6358).
