Item Description

A really attractive sliced and polished Ammonite - {species: Cleoniceras (Grycia) besairiei} - from the late early cretaceous period about 100 mya. The fossil has been cut in half and has been polished to show the interior and exterior structure. The internal chambers are filled with translucnet golden calcite, and the exterior actually shows very slight iridescent flashes of pink, gold, lavender and green! Very attractive and worthwhile for any collector of the material. It's larger than most I've handled from this area, and is in excellent condition. A fine quality and very good sized example of this beloved fossil material.
