Item Description

A beautiful specimen of fine yellow Heliodor from Brazil. It's not common to find good natural yellow crystals of Beryl that are not only gemmy, but still have smooth, sharp, lustrous faces. We're all familiar with the GEM quality but highly etched Heliodors from Volodarsk-Volynskii in the Ukraine, but fine hexagonal crystals are not often seen in the mineral world. Of all the Beryl varieties, Heliodor is one of the least common. This crystal has a lovely light yellow hue with smooth lustrous faces and good internal gemminess. It only shows a tiny bit of etching, and the termination has a beautiful modified pyramidal habit.
