Item Description

Some of the most renowned wire Silver specimens from Colorado were found in the various mines in Creede in southern Colorado. This piece came to us with a small printed of paper stating that it was from a very specific locality in the Last Chance Mine. Although Silver is well known from this locality, I honestly haven't seen much in the way of wire Silver, and this piece could be from another locality in Creede, such as the Bulldog Mountain Mine. This specimen is a fairly thick (for the district), classic, striated "curled" wire Silver with beautiful form and patina. Specimens of wire Silver from Creede are not often seen on the market today, and these are truly some of the most classic of all Silvers from Colorado.
