Item Description

Shimmering, brilliant red "needle"-like crystals of this acicular variety of Cuprite are covering the underlying oxidized matrix from this classic locality at the Ray Mine in Arizona. The Chalcotrichite crystals are beautiful to view up close, and we've photographed them with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate their quality. There is a rich coverage of crystals on this piece and certainly worth picking up for your Arizona collection or a suite of Copper minerals. Fine, classic, historic material from Arizona. The piece comes with a hand written label that states it came from Frank Valenzuela, though I don't know which collection it's from. Valued at $650 in the inventory.
