Apatite

Item Description

A rarely seen euhedral crystal of hexagaonl Apatite from the lesser known Grace Lake roadcut in Ontario, Canada. This pyroxene skarn locality is not known for its Apatite specimens, and this is honestly the only example of the material that I've seen from this locale. The crystal is translucent with a soft blue-green hue and a somewhat waxy external luster. Complete all around and a great pickup for anybody who collects odd locality thumbnails, Canadian minerals or phosphates. The label on the base of the "perky" box says that the piece was collected July 31, 1985.
