Item Description

An incredibly rare association specimen from the famous Junnila Mine in San Benito County, California featuring micro yellow Fresnoite with Strontiojoaquinite on matrix. The piece is best viewed under a microscope or loupe, but there are several spots where euhedral crystals clearly can be seen. Now the crystals are rough 1 mm or so, but they are very attractive to view up close. Fresnoite is a very rare barium titanium silicate, only found in about 15 world localities, and Strontiojoaquinite is an even rarer strontium barium sodium iron titanium silicate that is only found in FOUR world localities, so to have the two of them together on the same specimen is remarkably rare. If you collect rare minerals or species from California, don't miss out on this very hard to find specimen.
