Malachite pseudomorph after Azurite (ex Evan Jones)

Item Description

It's not common to find Malachite / Azurite specimens from Nacozari de García in Mexico, but this piece comes with a label from Evan Jones, so I'm confident it's genuine. It somewhat reminds me of specimens from Ajo, Arizona, but it still has its own unique appearance. Velvety, blocky, rich green colored pseudomorphs of Malachite after Azurite measuring up to 2.0 cm across free of matrix. The piece is very showy as you can see from the photos, and only has a bit of edgewear. A great piece for any Mexican collector or a fan of secondary copper minerals.
