Tourmaline (multicolor) (54.60 carats) (ex Rolando Gioia Collection)

Item Description

A nice single Tourmaline crystal from the Pederneira Mine with a notably black ("cabeça preta") basal termination which transitions into a chrome green hue which gives way to an olive green hue with a lovely pink color at the base of the crystal. If you backlit the crystal, you can see it has a bit of a "watermelon" appearance with a pink core and a green "rind", although there is a slight amount of green at the center as well. Good condition overall, though the termination is contacted, and a small accessory crystal on the back is not complete. Specimen weight is 54.60 carats.
