Item Description

A wonderful thumbnail specimen of this HARD TO FIND material featuring a few groups of bright, silvery colored, semi-metallic, foliated, hexagonal crystals of Molybdenite free of matrix. Very good condition overall as it's completely on both sides, with only a few small nicks here and there. According to mindat, this locality was finished in 1902, so specimens like this are WELL OVER 100 years old! These are some of the best and most recognized crystallized examples of Molybdenite from any US locality.
