Item Description

Phosphophyllite has been dubbed the "Holy Grail" of mineral species as it combines what most people consider to be the ultimate combination of beauty and rarity in the mineral world. About 10 years ago there was as discovery of very attractive Phosphophyllites from the Huayllani Mine. Now these specimens are rather different from the classic material that everybody knows from the Unificada Mine in Potosi, but they are still quite beautiful and have given collectors a great opportunity to pick up a lovely specimen of this highly sought after phosphate. This miniature specimen features exceptionally rare, sharp, translucent, wonderful bluish-green color, crystals - many of which have formed "butterfly"-twins measuring up to a few mm sitting on matrix. It should be noted that specimens of Phosphophyllite are virtually non-existent in today's market. A great piece for anybody who has ever wanted a specimen of Phosphophyllite from Bolivia to add to their collection.
