Item Description

Here we have a RICH specimen of Microlite from a find in 1980s featuring hundreds if not thousands of tiny (it's called Microlite for a reason) sparkling, golden-orange colored crystals coating every side. The piece has a somewhat layered formation and it seems every square millimeter is covered with Microlite crystals. Yes, the crystals are small, but the piece is still incredibly rich from the standpoint of the sheer NUMBER of Microlites that can be seen. This is classic material from the famous Ipê mine in Brazil. The best specimens from this locality are some of the best quality (despite their small size) Microlite crystals you'll find. A great micro specimen for anybody looking to pick up a piece of one of the less common oxides out there. It is important to note that this piece is labeled as Microlite Group because Microlite is no longer a valid. It's possible that this piece could be Fluorcalciomicrolite, but it hasn't been analyzed.
