Item Description

A classic older thumbnail specimen of the famous Pyrites from Ambas Aguas featuring penetrating crystals of brassy, striated Pyrite showing mostly a cubic habit with pyritohedral modifications on the edges. This is not the same material as those seen from Navajun, which features simple cubes. This is old material, and like many of the pieces that came out in those days, they were labeled as coming from "Logrono, Spain". From the worldwide collection of noted Idaho collector Geary Murdock. Among other accomplishments, Geary was responsible for discovering some of the finest gem grade deep blue Aquamarine crystals in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho - which remain arguably the finest Aquamarines from any North American locality. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/36634006/geary-jack-murdock
