Item Description

Robinsonite is a very rare lead antimony sulfosalt, and while it's reported from a few dozen localities around the world, it's nearly impossible to find good sized specimens such as this on the market. This cabinet sized piece features lustrous, metallic, silvery-grey colored thin prismatic crystals of Robinsonite that can be seen on both sides of the specimen. A very attractive and notably good sized piece of this incredibly hard to find mineral. The piece comes from the worldwide collection of David Burgess (1951-2016). David was a prolific species collector from Newington, Connecticut, and the namesake for the extremely rare cobalt arsenate species Burgessite, which he discovered. Additionally, there is a label from Czech and Slovak expert and mineral dealer, Josef Vajdak
