Item Description

The Strontianites from the famous Dreislar Mine in Germany are some of the finest quality examples of the species outside of the Oberdorf, Austria. This piece is a superb example of the Dreislar material featuring several very well-formed, good sized, sharp, lustrous, translucent, pale golden color crystals sitting on thick bladed pink Barite with minor associated Chalcopyrite. The largest Strontianite measures 1.6 x 1.5 cm. Nearly every Strontianite is pristine, but I can see one contact on the lower edge of the piece. If you've ever wanted a really nice Strontianite from this famous mine, don't miss out on this attractive display quality miniature. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11083). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
