Item Description

Tsumeb is world famous for producing many of the finest examples of various mineral species. Good crystallized Coppers are not terribly common from Tsumeb, but this piece is a very fine quality and beautiful display specimen. The piece shows two generations of crystallization with small, very sharp, well-formed, modified cuboctahedral crystals sitting on almost "feathery" arborescent spines of crystallized Copper. The piece has a gorgeous patina with an almost reddish hue in areas. As I said, the actual crystals of Copper are small, but they are really sharp and beautiful up close. The piece is nearly a complete "floater" as it's crystallized all over with only a few minor points of attachment. I think the piece resembles a plant or a bush with small "berries" sprinkled all over. A wonderful Copper specimen for any native element collector or a fan of Tsumeb minerals. The piece comes with a label from the collection of Dr. Gunther Grundmann in Germany.
