Item Description

Illinois Fluorites are some of the most sought after Fluorites from any world locality. The combination of wonderful colors along with beautiful "phantom" zoning makes them classics. Most collectors seek out blue crystals of Fluorite from southern Illinois, as this color is often the most difficult to obtain and the most eye-catching. This small cabinet specimen is a very good sized, sharp, gemmy, richly colored partial cube of Fluorite with a semi-stacked growth and slight color zoning that can be seen when backlit. The crystal is free of matrix, with only a few TINY imperfections, so it's nearly damage free. The underside is not actually broken but semi-recrystallized or healed (some might call it "rehealed"), so it's you could say it's virtually complete on all sides. The blue color is beautiful indoors, but as many of you know, these crystals look superb in sunlight, as this piece is no different. At one time these specimens were plentiful, but now the entire area is closed down, and no more Illinois Fluorites are coming out, so don't miss out on this eye-catching big cube for your collection. Priced in the inventory at $1,200.
