Item Description

Wushan Spessartines are some of the best examples of the species from any locality in the last 20+ years. The combination of the brilliant luster, excellent color, gemminess and fine crystallization along with the wonderful associated minerals makes them highly desirable. This attractive small cabinet specimen features dozens of small (2 mm) sparkling, gemmy, lustrous brilliant orange color trapezohedra with dodecahedral modifications sitting on cream colored Microcline matrix. There are also a few sharp, lustrous Smoky Quartz crystals - the largest of which measures 1.9 cm - showing excellent gemminess when backlit. Lastly, this piece features a rarely seen, glassy, gemmy, pale green octahedral Fluorite crystal measuring 8 mm for a great accent. The combination of all four species together is not common from this locality. It's a very showy specimen with VERY little damage and excellent quality crystals. I really love the fact that the Spessartines are lustrous and smooth - not at all pitted or dull like many Spessartines from various world localities. Although there were many of these specimens on the market, there are few of them on the market now, so if you want an attractive display specimen of these well-known Garnets, don't miss out on this one. Valued at $500 in the inventory.
