Item Description

Of all the secondary lead minerals in Arizona, Pyromorphite is actually quite difficult to find. Perhaps some of the best known examples are those from the Hardshell Mine in Santa Cruz County. They are certainly the most colorful Pyromorphites I've seen from any locality in Arizona. This piece is a lovely small thumbnail example of this hard to find material featuring vitreous, chartreuse colored prisms measuring up to about 2 mm on gossan matrix. A great piece for any Arizona or secondary mineral collector. Incredibly hard to find on the market! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10616). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
