Item Description

Dioptase is known from a few world localities in superb quality specimens, but recently there was a find of new material in the Pool Department of the Congo (Brazzaville). These specimens show great color, with larger sized crystals and EXCELLENT gemminess. This particular specimen hosts very sharp, lustrous, gemmy, electric emerald green color Dioptase crystals measuring up to a whopping 2.5 cm (an inch!) sitting on matrix. Crystals of Dioptase are rarely this size, thickness, and great quality for the species. The color, luster and gemminess are superb for Dioptase from any locality! The secondary crystal (next to the largest crystal) does have an incomplete growth along the termination. This piece was mined in 2016, and the production was extremely limited, but hopefully will produce more of this SUPERB quality Dioptase in the future. With the price of Tsumeb Dioptase specimens rising daily, this is a great opportunity to snag a "Tsumeb"-type quality specimen of this species for a fraction of the price. Don't miss out on this showy and eye-catching display specimen of fine quality Dioptase. Priced at $2450 in the inventory for the size of the crystals and superior quality.
