Morganite (ex Obodda)

A classic, doubly-terminated, sharp, beautiful pink color, translucent, lustrous, tabular hexagonal Beryl (var: "Morganite") with minor white "rosettes" of Albite (var: "Cleavelandite") along with thin prismatic Tourmaline and Quartz (on the reverse side). The piece displays well, and I have to say it looks better in person. When it's backlit, the crystal even shows a bit of an internal "phantom" growth. A very attractive and well crystallized display specimen of this classic pegmatite material. You don't see a lot of Morganite specimens from Afghanistan out there, and outside of Brazil, well crystallized Morganites are almost unheard of. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock, valued at $1800.
