Item Description

A classic example of Zinnwald ore featuring stark veins of rich black Cassiterite cutting through pink granite host rock. These are not terribly common on the market, and would maek a great addition to any collection of old Zinnwald pieces (especialy to show how to ore formed in situ), or it would liven up a suite of worldwide Cassiterites. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3963). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
