Item Description

An exceptional and classic CABINET combination specimen from well-known Melchor Muzquiz in Mexico. A striking and rich cluster of gemmy, light purple, color-zoned fluorite cubes to 3.0 cm is very aesthetically placed along the front of the large, spearpoint-shaped, tabular, celestine crystal with sawtooth edges. The sprinkling of gemmy, amber, probably calcite or strontianite crystals on the fluorites and celestine is a very nice accent. The back is another specimen in itself, with the one gemmy fluorite cube on an edge. Complete all-around. The frontal display view is essentially pristine. You barely see the celestine termination bruising on the inside of the left termination. Very uncommon in this excellent combination quality and probably dates to the 1970s or 80s. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON. Rare on the market today. Ex Kay Robertson Collection with no collection number. Her label was misplaced in the move. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Fairly valued at $2500 for high quality and aesthetics.
