Item Description

A fantastic, group of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, blue-green color prismatic Tourmaline crystals from the famed Pederneira Mine in Brazil. Several crystals are intergrown to create this dramatic and showy display specimen. Some of the crystals show steep pyramidal terminations, while others display smooth basal terminations, and one of the crystals even shows a bit of a wispy "cat's eye" effect! Minor associated purplish-pink Lepidolite and white bladed Albite (var: Cleavelandite) make for a really nice touch. It must be noted that Lepidolite is no longer a valid mineral species, and according to the scattered information we found, Lepidolite is defined as a mineral in the so-called Polylithionite-Trilithionite series. With that said, we're still calling it Lepidolite. Pederneria Tourmalines are some of the most prized and acclaimed Tourmalines from any mine in the world. The specimen is in wonderful condition, and the Tourmaline is just gorgeous in person. The only damage I can see is on the base of the angled crystal where it was removed from the pocket, otherwise it's pristine as far I can tell. Like most Pederneira Tourmalines, this piece is repaired, but it's very common for the locality and accepted by dealers and collectors alike. An excellent cabinet size display Tourmaline specimen for any collector. Valued at $4,000 in the inventory.
