Item Description

This piece is not only great quality with razor sharp faces and high luster on the "scepter" end, but it's nearly a complete doubly-terminated "floater". The piece is nearly damage free, save a small nick on each termination of the crystal. The "broad" end of the specimen is actually very gemmy with a slight smoky hue while the other end has a slightly more translucent quality and is nearly colorless. Great quality and very eye-catching in person, so don't let the photos fool you, it's better when you hold it in your hands. From the collection of the long time, beloved, well-known French field collector, Paul Zerfass (Collection #162). Zerfass built this worldwide collection over nearly 50 years, many of which were personally collected. A biography featuring specimens from his collection (along with his face on the cover) is in the May - June 2017 issue of French mineral magazine, Le Regne Mineral. We have a .pdf copy of the article for anybody interested in reading it (though it's mostly in French). Just drop us a line and know that you'd like to have a copy.
