Item Description

A sharply terminated, highly lustrous, striated, jet-black ilvaite crystal from this famous island. Complete all-round and nearly pristine, with only a trivial bit of edgewear. Classic and excellent material from the Gene Meieran Collection. An old specimen from the type locality for the species. Elba Island is actually the type locality for Ilvaite and Elbaite (both of which are named after the locality). Valued at $500.
