Item Description

From the find around 10 years ago that produced some of the finest quality Hubnerite crystals ever found. Though the crystals are not the largest ever found, they are remarkably sharp, and well-formed with brilliant luster. This piece hosts thin bladed crystals of Hubnerite with razor-sharp terminations and highly reflective faces sitting among GEM quality, colorless, thin, prismatic Quartz crystals. The largest Hubnerite measures 9 mm. No real damage that I can see with the naked eye. Valued at $500. From the worldwide collection of famed Italian mineral collector, field collector and author, Francesco Bedogne of Sondrio, Italy (Collection #495). Bedogne wrote dozens of articles and several books about the mineralogy of Italian Alpine localities such as Val Bregaglia, Val Masino, Val Codera, Val Spluga, Valtellina and the famous Val Malenco. He was also the founder of the Valtellinese Mineralogical Institute.
