Item Description

Mount Saint-Hilaire is one of the world's most significant localities, and produces many "best in the world" specimens of a lot of minerals. This piece features a "burst" of sharp, lustrous, off-white colored crystals of Leifite sitting on salmon colored Serandite with minor reddish colored crystals of Rhodochrosite. A cool association specimen, and really fun to view under the microscope. It is now difficult to obtain specimens from this locality as collecting has been limited / reduced in recent years, so if you collect minerals from this world famous prolific locality, don't miss out on this attractive specimen. Ex Charlie Key personal collection. Charlie is arguably the most sucessful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
