Item Description

A classic specimen of rich red prismatic Quartz crystals whose color comes from iron-inclusions. The crystals are sharp and lustrous, and actually show beautiful internal "phantoms". Overall the piece looks beautiful with a bit of backlighting, and these classic specimens from the Orange River are now considered classics among collectors and dealers. The largest crystal measures 2.7 cm long, and most of the crystals are pristine, though there are a few contacts / separation marks. Ex Charlie Key personal collection. Charlie is arguably the most sucessful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
