Item Description

Please note: This piece came labeled as coming from a locality called "San Pedro Martir", and I was able to find one specimen on mindat that was reported to come from there, so I believe the locality is valid. The piece hosts prismatic, sharp, lustrous, dark green Epidote crystals measuring up to 8 mm associated with translucent, colorless, hexagonal crystals of Quartz measuring up to 3.7 cm long. Many of the crystals are undamaged, but there are some contacts here and there. A rare locality specimen that would make a great addition to any Mexican mineral collection. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5053). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
