Item Description

The discovery of Ferronigerite-2N1S (originally Nigerite) from the Three Aloes Mine produced the finest examples of the species. This material is exceptionally difficult to obtain, and good crystallized examples such as this are prized by rare mineral collectors. This piece is a euhedral, beautiful, sharp, lustrous, platy, reddish-brown 5 mm crystal of Ferronigerite-2N1S free of matrix. If you want a fine example of this mineral, look no further, this one is worth picking up. Ex Charlie Key personal collection. Charlie is arguably the most sucessful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
