Item Description

A wonderful cominbation small cabinet display specimen from the famous Shigar Valley, which has produced some of the most iconic mineral specimens in the last 30+ years. This piece hosts a 1.6 cm, gemmy, sharp, lustrous light green and purple complex Fluorite crystal that shows a predominant octahedral form, but if you look closely you can see each corner of the crystal is dotted with an overgrowth of cubic, dodcehedral, and what I believe are either trioctahedral or tetrahexahedral faces. The crystal is LOADED with small modifying faces, and truly doesn't look like any other Fluorite I've seen from the area. In addition, a 2.4 cm crystal of soft pink Apatite (Fluorapatite) on the side / back of the specimen which is wedged behind a group of sharp, lustrous, gemmy Quartz crystals free of matrix. The piece looks to be completely recrystallized on the reverse side, making this a "floater" specimen! It was a bit difficult to photograph, but when you hold it in your hands, it's truly a delight to view. I really can't find any damage of note on the piece. If you collect gem crystals ore pegmatite minerals, or good combination / association specimens, don't miss out on this one as it's unique and really attractive in person. Valued in the inventory at $900.
