Item Description

The Ojuela Mine is one of the most iconic mineral producing localities in Mexico. This is a good quality specimen of excellent orange-yellow color Mimetite in semi-spherical aggregates measuring up to 1.0 cm long which are associated with a lovely lemon yellow, sharp, lustrous, gemmy tabular crystal of Wulfenite measuring 7 mm on minor matrix. This particular combination of yellow Mimetite and yellow Wulfenite and is not terribly common from this locality. We've seen plenty of green Mimetites from the Ojuela Mine often associated with Wulfenite, but the yellow material is older, and to my mind, less common than the green. This piece came out around 40 years ago. Good quality, only a couple of trivial nick, and very attractive in person.
