Item Description

Please note: This specimen came labeled as coming from "Hoerndlberg near Lam, Oberpfalz, Bavaria, Germany", but I can't find a listing for this locality in any database. If anybody out there has some insight as to where it might be from, please let us know. This piece features a 2.1 cm, prismatic, striated black Tourmaline crystal with additional smaller Tourmalines and minor Feldspar. It's more of a reference specimen as the main crystal is contacted on the back, and has a "hole" where another crystal once grew on the front. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3087). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
