Item Description
Scapolite is not a species, but is often assigned to gems as it is more recognizable to most collectors. The actual species are Meionite and Marialite. Here we have a fine gem crystal with an attractive lilac purple color, and sharp, lustrous faces. It is WATER CLEAR through the crystal and glows with color down the "c" axis! This Tanzanian material is fairly new to the market, but already seems to be in very short supply in recent years. This is a great thumbnail and it looks better in person. No real damage, only some interrupted growth that I can see next to the termination. Specimen weight is 7.29 carats
