Item Description

Most of the Vietnamese Beryls we've had show some the richest blue colors you will see from any locality, but this one is interestingly bicolored, showing half blue Aquamarine and half yellow Heilodor. The color in is caused by iron in both cases, but with a different valence, so the iron actually transitioned during the formation of this crystal, causing it to change color. This beautiful thumbnail specimen is a sharp, well-formed, GEM/gemmy, rich blue and yellow colored hexagonal prism. One of the best aspects of the piece is the fact that it's hardly etched, with smooth faces, and really looks good in person. Considering it's a smaller crystal, it's amazingly dark in color. Attention Beryl collectors or gem crystal collectors, don't miss out on this beautiful crystal from this limited discovery in Vietnam. Thes started coming out around a decade ago, and the limited supply has kept them from becoming abundant on the market, but they are certainly sought after by collectors.
