Item Description

A good quality, and beautiful display specimen of purple Fluorite hosting very sharp and gemmy cubes sitting on bladed cream colored Barite. The largest cube measures 1.1 cm on edge. The piece has a few minor issues in terms of damage, but it's very beautiful when the crystals are backlit, and it really looks good in indoor lighting or sunlight. The flowing layered form of the Barite crystals makes it especially attractive. The best Fluorites from Berbes are among the finest quality Fluorites in the world from the standpoint of gemminess/clarity and luster. From the collection of the long time, beloved, well-known French field collector, Paul Zerfass (Collection #554). Zerfass built this worldwide collection over nearly 50 years, many of which were personally collected. A biography featuring specimens from his collection (along with his face on the cover) is in the May - June 2017 issue of French mineral magazine, Le Regne Mineral. We have a .pdf copy of the article for anybody interested in reading it (though it's mostly in French). Just drop us a line and know that you'd like to have a copy.
