Item Description

A pair of classic old time specimen of Grossular from the famous Jeffrey Mine in Quebec. The larger of the two specimens features a 1.6 cm dodecahedron of distinctly pinkish colored Grossular with minor green Diopside crystals on matrix. The smaller of the two peices hosts a 1.0 cm partial trapezohedral crystal of Grossular with a much more orange hue and notable striations on matrix. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5645 and #5648). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
