Item Description

A wonderful and showy display specimen featuring nearly jet black, HIGHLY lustrous, botryoidal groups of Hematite free of matrix from the Vein 12 locality at Taouz, Morocco. The Hematites have a brilliant metallic mirror-like luster and look beautiful in person. Great quality, and LARGE "balls" compared to most I have seen from the locality. It does have some separation marks where it was removed from the pocke, but it still looks great in person. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8244). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
