Item Description

A classic Variscite "pod" that was sawn in half and each side was polished to reveal the beautiful rich green material inside. It's nearly solid Variscite throughout, which is rare as most specimens shows thin bands, and not solid patches like this. This set was priced at $2500 in our inventory, and good quality pieces from Lucin, let alone matched pairs like this, are certainly hard to find on the market. Variscite is known from dozens of localities around the world, but the specimens from Utah are among the best in the world for what they are. The species is named for the German district of Variscia, which was the medieval name for modern-day Vogtland.
