Item Description

One of the better specimens of Bournonite that I have offered from Bolivia in the auctions for a while. This piece is features an attractive, sharp, metallic, silvery color, tabular crystal measuring 1.3 cm across with a secondary Bournonite smartly perched atop crystallized micro grey Quartz matrix with tiny spots of Pyrite. This specimen is from a find in 2008 in Bolivia, and is in GREAT shape overall from the standpoint of damage. These are rare on the market these days. Comparatively, the Bolivian Bournonites are priced significantly lower than their contemporary Chinese counterparts, and a piece like this from Machacamarca is very difficult to find. Valued at $500.
