Item Description

A cool old time association specimen from Flussschact in Stolberg featuring singular, thick, sharp, silvery colored cubic crystal of Fluorite which plays host to cream colored radial / botryoidal groups of Barite scattered on the two faces. The piece shows an interesting fluorescence under UV light. The piece is in fairly good shape, though the side / back the Fluorite is contacted. I can't remember seeing "balls" of Barite like this on Fluorite from this area. An odd specimen for anybody who collects worldwide Fluorites or minerals of Germany! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3645) with a label from Eugene and Sharon Cisneros of Mineralogical Research Company. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
