Item Description

While this area is best known for its superb Aquamarine crystals, this piece is a fine quality specimen of crystallized Feldspar in the form of notably pink colored blocky Microcline crystals. This piece is a fairly well-formed, blocky, thick, cream colored Baveno twin, free of matrix. I can see the symmetry plane where the twin formed, but it's not terribly distinct, as the termination is a bit weathered. WIth that said it's still a very attractive and seldom seen specimen of this wonderful material from this remote region in southern central Idaho. From the worldwide collection of noted Idaho collector Geary Murdock. Among other accomplishments, Geary was responsible for discovering some of the finest gem grade deep blue Aquamarine crystals in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho - which remain arguably the finest Aquamarines from any North American locality. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/36634006/geary-jack-murdock
