Item Description

One of the classic Quartz-lined geodes from Las Choyas, Mexico featuring crystallized lilac Amethyst in the center with beautifully banded blue Agate around the periphery. White Quartz serves as the transition between the periphery and the center of the piece with a lovely gradient throughout. The piece is polished showing colors ranging from a soft silvery-blue to nearly white with the lovely smoky lilac hue in the center. This piece comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ).
