Item Description

When I first saw this material, I thought that that they were some of the most impressive, flashy and colorful specimens of Gypsum I have seen in years. This specimen consists of a "ball" of excellent, razor-sharp, golden color, crystals of Gypsum which play host to a few VERY GEMMY, soft golden-yellow color "fish-tail" twins measuring up to 3.7 cm aesthetically flaring out the sides of the piece. This "floater" crystal formed in a calcium clay/sediment and has no point of attachment whatsoever. The color is very attractive for the species as well. The material is typically very fluorescent as well ! Another important aspect of this specimen is that it is NOT repaired, which makes a difference with this material, as many were glued back together. Don't miss out on what I'm sure will be considered a Canadian "classic" in years to come.
